Eastern Sky Landscaping was founded in 1999 by Chad Ford. After graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1996, Chad began working as a foreman for a local landscaping company. He founded Eastern Sky Landscaping to transform clients’ thoughts and ideas into custom designs that cater to their unique lifestyle desires and needs. Chad guarantees that each project receives the closest attention to detail, and his pride in his work ensures a quality finish for every project.
Chad not only brings his artistic talents to your design, but his twenty years of industry experience ensures quality workmanship in all stages of the project – from building the foundation to installing the last paver piece.
Chad is joined by his wife, Lindsey, and an excellent crew of workers and contractors who provide the dedication and hard work to make Eastern Sky a success. Chad is thankful for the love and support of his family and friends, but, most of all, he thanks his Heavenly Father for His daily hope, joy and guidance.

Purchased our first skid steer, marking the start of expanding our capabilities and taking on more complex projects with greater efficiency.

2000

First Crew Expansion
Hired our first team members to keep up with growing demand.
2004
Big Leaps Forward
We hired our first job foreman and added our second piece of equipment to keep up with demand. That same year, we completed our first large-scale project and bought our first dump truck, key steps to taking on bigger, more complex jobs.
2005
Certified & Recognized
Became a Unilock Authorized Contractor and earned both ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) and NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association) certifications. These milestones reinforced our dedication to industry standards, craftsmanship, and lasting quality.
2007
Fleet & Equipment Upgrade
Invested in new machinery and vehicles to increase efficiency and quality.
2014
New HQ and Yard Location
Moved into our current shop/yards to better serve our growing team and customer base.
2018
Bringing Projects to Life with Tech
We purchased our first drone to survey job sites from above, giving us better planning accuracy and progress tracking. We also began using 3D design software to help clients visualize their outdoor spaces before we ever break ground.
2020
Invested in Smart Excavation Technology
Added an excavator equipped with an onboard computer that monitors depth, distance, and angles in real time. This cutting-edge tech helps us dig with precision, improves efficiency, and ensures perfect grading and excavation every time.
2024
25 Years Strong
We celebrated 25 years of turning outdoor dreams into reality. From small backyard upgrades to full outdoor living spaces, we’ve built a reputation for quality, reliability, and craftsmanship that stands the test of time. That same year, we were honored to be nominated for Unilock’s Outdoor Living Space Contractor of the Year.
2025
New Name, Same Craftsmanship
In our 26th year, we changed our name from Eastern Sky Landscaping to Eastern Sky Hardscaping to better reflect the custom stonework, patios, outdoor living spaces, and structural work we specialize in. Our focus hasn’t changed—just the name that represents it.
